MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />June 25, 1984 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor R. W. Luxembourger at 1:15 <br />p.m., in Roam 147, Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza. <br />Councilmembers present were John Acosta, Daniel E. Griset, Patricia A. <br />McGuigan, Dan Young, and Mayor Luxembourger. Also present were City <br />Manager Robert C. Bobb, City Attorney Edward J. Cooper, and Clerk of <br />the Council Janice C. Guy, as well as members of the City's Executive <br />Management team, the public and the press. Councilmembers P. Lee <br />Johnson and Gordon Bricken arrived at 1:28 p.m. and 1:50 p.m. <br />respectively. <br /> <br />WORK STUDY SESSION <br /> <br />CENTERPOINTE STATUS REPORT <br /> <br />The City Manager indicated that there was no new information to report <br />on this project. <br /> <br />NEIGHBORHOOD IMEROVEMENT (CODE ~FORCEMENT) STATUS REPORT <br /> <br />The Director of Corm~unity Development and Housing reviewed the sta- <br />tistics regarding the impacts of the Code Enforcement Housing Pro- <br />gram, reported that staff was discovering a large number of illegally <br />constructed units, discussed ways to lessen the impacts of displace- <br />ment caused by tke Program, indicated the City was a leader in new <br />housing production in Orange County, and explained the flow chart <br />contained in his m~o to the City Manager dated June 22, 1984, <br />entitled "Comprehensive Program to Meet Ongoing Housing Needs for the <br />City of Santa Ana." The Director responded to Councilmembers' ques- <br />tions reqarding the program. <br /> <br />The City Manager noted that code enforcament was working, that <br />additional staff would be requested for the Program in the upcaming <br />budget, and that the Program was structured to encourage neighbors' <br />and community organizations' input. <br /> <br />COUNCIL SUPPORT AND LIAISON <br /> <br />The City Manager explained he was exploring a new funding source for <br />the Intergoverr~ental portion of the Council Support program and <br />requested that Council discussion of this it~ be delayed until July <br />2, 1984. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 217 JUNE 25, 1984 <br /> <br /> <br />
