<br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />~ <br />~ <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br /> <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br /> <br />JULY 5, 2005 <br />TITLE: <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />o As Recommended <br />o As Amended <br />o Ordinance on 151 Reading <br />o Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />o Implementing Resolution <br />o Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION ADJUSTMENT <br />ACCEPTING COUNTY OF ORANGE <br />FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES <br />TOGETHER GRANT FUNDS <br /> <br /> <br />py~ <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Approve an appropriation adjustment accepting $65,497 in County of Orange, <br />Families and Communities Together Grant funds in revenue account (account <br />no. 169-01-5361-600) and appropriate the funds to the Families and <br />Communities Together program expenditure accounts (account no. 169-267- <br />various) . <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />At its February 18, 2003 meeting, the City Council adopted a resolution <br />authorizing participation in the Children's Bureau of Southern California's <br />Families and Communities Together (FaCT) program, which is funded by the <br />County of Orange. The original agreement, which commenced October 1, 2003, <br />was for a one-year term with the option to extend the agreement for two <br />additional one-year terms. The City is entering the third year of this <br />agreement. <br /> <br />The FaCT Program operates out of the Corbin Family Resource Center and <br />provides services promoting safe and stable families to at-risk-youth and <br />families with children ages birth through 18 years. The Corbin Family <br />Resource Center received $225,500 in FY 2005-06 funding. The Parks, <br />Recreation and Community Services Agency will receive $65,497 of the total <br />grant award to provide information and referral services and childcare for <br />clients attending programs at Corbin. Among the partners participating <br />wi th the Parks, Recreation and Communi ty Services Agency are: Children 's <br />Bureau of Southern California, Olive Crest Treatment Center, Camp Fire USA, <br />and Human Options. <br /> <br />20B-1 <br />
