MOTION: <br /> <br />Proceed with the City Manager's proposal for the Christ~aas <br />parade, and continue appropriation adjustment No. 15 to <br />September 10, 1984. <br /> <br />MOTION: Johnson SECOND: Acosta <br /> <br />VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Acosta, Griset, Johnson, Luxembourger <br />Bricken <br />McGuigan, Young FILE 310.05 <br /> 910 <br /> <br />INTERGOVERNMENTAL RELATIONS OFFICE <br /> <br />The Deputy City Manager of Operations reviewed the purpose of creating <br />an Intergovernmental Relations office, stating that s~ne of the functions <br />this office would be responsible for were initiating legislation, <br />reviewing legislation, working with private foundations, and <br />providing assistance in placing individuals on corm~ittees at the <br />County, State, and Federal levels. She noted that the Manager's <br />Office was looking for someone with experience at the State level. <br /> <br />Councilmembers presented their views on what qualifications should be <br />and whether or not this office should be separate frc~a the the City. <br /> <br />CITY TELEPHONE SYSTEM <br /> <br />Administrative Assistant Dave Borik told Council about the bid process <br />for the City's telephone system and reviewed the ccmpanies which had <br />submitted bids. Jerry Supernaw, Cormmunications Resources Company, the <br />City's consultant on this project, reviewed the process used to select <br />the best responsive bidder, analyzing the criteria of responsiveness <br />to the bid; ccrapany, product, service, and financial strengths; and cost. <br /> <br />NEIGHBORHOOD I~ROVE~NT (CODE ENFORCEMENT) UPDATE <br /> <br />The Comnunity Preservation Officer presented Council with an update <br />for the month of August relative to the Neighborhood Improvement <br />Program. <br /> <br />The Council recessed at 2:38 p.m., and reconvened at 2:55 p.m., with <br />all Councilmembers present, except Councilmembers Bricken, McGuigan <br />and Young. Councilmember Young rejoined the meeting at 3:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Councilmembers discussed their concerns relative to Consent Calendar <br />items. <br /> <br />At 3:13 p.m., the Council recessed and reconvened in the Council <br />Chambers at 3:22 p.m., with all Councilmembers present, except <br />Councilm~nber McGuigan. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 340 SEPTEMBER 4, 1984 <br /> <br /> <br />
