Integrated into <br />the CAD will be a new 9 -1-1 Emergency Phone System. Positron Inc. was <br />selected as the vendor to provide both the CAD and 9-1-1 Emergency Phone <br />System. By integrating these two compatible systems, dispatchers will be <br />able to trace, locate, and return phone calls from community members <br />requesting emergency services. The new phone system will be capable of <br />providing dispatchers with the location of individuals who are using either <br />hard-wired or cellular telephones. <br /> <br />Positron Inc. is also an authorized California Multiple Award Schedules <br />(CMAS) contractor. The CMAS offers a variety of commodity and information <br />technology products and services at prices that have been assessed to be <br />fair, reasonable, and competitive. The California 9-1-1 Emergency <br />Communications Office has set up a grant account for the purchase of the <br />Emergency Phone System. The 9 -1-1 Emergency Communications Office will <br />make a direct payment to Positron Inc. for the entire cost of the phone <br />system. <br /> <br />25A-1 <br />
