Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager <br />and the Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement with Orange <br />County Conservation Corps in an amount not to exceed $60,660 for <br />education and employment strategies under the Federal Empowerment <br />Zone Daisy Wheel Network Program. <br /> <br />7. Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager <br />and the Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement with Taller <br />San Jose in an amount not to exceed $79,770 for <br />vocational/occupational training, employment strategies, and <br />supportive services under the Federal Empowerment Zone Daisy Wheel <br />Network Program. <br /> <br />8. Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager <br />and the Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement with Templo <br />Calvario in an amount not to exceed $67,500 for employment <br />strategies and supportive services under the Federal Empowerment <br />Zone Daisy Wheel Network Program. <br /> <br />9. Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager <br />and the Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement with The <br />Academia in an amount not to exceed $50,000 for education and <br />employment strategies under the Federal Empowerment Zone Daisy <br />Wheel Network Program. <br /> <br />10. Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager <br />and the Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement wi th The <br />Cambodian Family in an amount not to exceed $85,629 for <br />vocational/occupational training, employment strategies, and <br />supportive services under the Federal Empowerment Zone Daisy Wheel <br />Network Program. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Daisy Wheel Network program was established to broaden and <br />strengthen the current network of partnerships by bringing together <br />agencies with expertise in areas such as education, <br />occupational/vocational training, employment strategies, and supportive <br />serVlces, in order to augment current services. The nine partners that <br />comprise the Daisy Wheel Network program provide an employment driven <br />system that offers intensive services such as case management, job <br />development, and retention services to eligible Federal Empowerment Zone <br />residents. <br /> <br />251-2 <br />
