<br />A- ~O~-/ 70-1:0-0/ <br /> <br />~ .'. <br /> <br />FIRST AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT <br />URBAN AREA SECURITY INITIATIVE (U ASI) <br /> <br />THIS FIRST AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT is entered into on June del , <br />2005, by and between the City of Costa Mesa, acting through the Costa Mesa Police <br />Department ("Subgrantee") and the City of Santa Ana ("City"). <br /> <br />Recitals: <br /> <br />A. The parties entered into Agreement A-2004-176-1 0, dated February 18, 2005 <br />(hereinafter "said Agreement") by which City, in its capacity as the Core City for the <br />Santa Ana Urban Area under the FY04 Urban Area Security Initiative (hereinafter <br />"UASI"), transferred UASI Grant Funds to Subgrantee for the purchase and <br />installation of security gates and fencing around Subgrantee's facilities. <br /> <br />B. In accordance with the terms and conditions of said Agreement, the parties wish to <br />increase the Grant Award to pay for specific project costs which were estimated at the <br />time of entering into said Agreement and have increased. <br /> <br />Wherefore, in consideration of the covenants contained in said Agreement, and subject <br />to all the terms and conditions of said Agreement, except those amended in this First <br />Amendment to Agreement, the parties agree as follows: <br /> <br />1. The amount ofUASI Grant Funds transferred from City to Subgrantee shall be <br />increased by $22,000.00, for a total cost of$150,000.00, to pay for installation of <br />security gates and fencing around Subgrantee's Police Department and Fire Station <br />#5 Facilities, as set forth in the letter dated April 20, 2005, attached hereto as Exhibit <br />A-I, and incorporated by this reference. The total FY04 UASI Grant award to <br />Subgrantee shall be increased from $137,000.00 to $159,000.00. <br /> <br />2.
