MOTION: <br /> <br />Instruct staff to establish both short and long-range <br />litter control programs and report to Council in two <br />weeks. <br /> <br />MOTION: Young SECOND: Johnson <br /> <br />AYES: Acosta, Griset, Johnson, Luxembourger, <br /> McGuigan, Young <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Bricken FILE 800 <br /> <br />COUNCIL COb~3NICATIONS <br /> <br />Councilm~mber McGuigan noted that the City's showmobilewas in shabby <br />condition but reported that the Executive Director of Cultural, <br />Recreation and Co~nunity Services had scheduled the sho~nobile for <br />clean-upprior to Golden City Days. <br /> <br />Councilmember Acosta expressed his disappointment regarding a lack of <br />City staff attendance at the International Menudo Cook-off at <br />Centennial Park and the lack of courtesy evidenced by Code Enforc~nent <br />personnel. <br /> <br />Councilm~nber Johnson noted the Menudo Cook-off had created a parking <br />problam for the neighborhood and urged that the neighborhood be <br />consulted before relocating the Swap Meet from Santa Ana Stadium to <br />Centennial Park. <br /> <br />Councilm~nber Young expressed his concern with the Centennial Park <br />location for the Swap Meet. <br /> <br />Councilm~ber Griset requested the Manager investigate fund-raising <br />being done to retain the Swap Meet at its present location. <br /> <br />Councilm~mlber Johnson requested that the City's showmobile be <br />repainted iwmediately. <br /> <br />Councilme~ers expressed their concern regarding possible <br />discrimination relative to Hispanic participation in Golden City Days. <br />The City Manager indicated he would provide the Council with a report <br />on the subject. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />At 5:30 p.m., the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />~eiCe'C.
