The Mayor opened the public hearing regarding construction <br />of an 80-unit motel on an approximately 1.17 acre parcel <br />located on the northwest corner of First and Lyon Streets <br />in the C2 District. <br /> <br />The Chief of Planning presented the staff report and <br />reconmendat ions. <br /> <br />The Clerk of the Council reported three written con~nt~ications had <br />been received and distributed to the Council. <br /> <br />David Recupero addressed the Council in favor of the appeal and <br />requested that his "Report and Analysis" in support of Appeal No. <br />509 and CUP 84-14 be made part of the record. <br /> <br />Verlyn Jensen, 3200 Park Center Drive, Costa Mesa, and Vera <br />Balderama spoke in opposition to Appeal No. 509. <br /> <br />There were no other speakers.
