The Mayor opened the public hearing regarding construction <br />of an 80-unit motel on an approximately 1.17 acre parcel <br />located on the northwest corner of First and Lyon Streets <br />in the C2 District. <br /> <br />The Chief of Planning presented the staff report and <br />reconmendat ions. <br /> <br />The Clerk of the Council reported three written con~nt~ications had <br />been received and distributed to the Council. <br /> <br />David Recupero addressed the Council in favor of the appeal and <br />requested that his "Report and Analysis" in support of Appeal No. <br />509 and CUP 84-14 be made part of the record. <br /> <br />Verlyn Jensen, 3200 Park Center Drive, Costa Mesa, and Vera <br />Balderama spoke in opposition to Appeal No. 509. <br /> <br />There were no other speakers. The Mayor closed the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Approve and file Negative Declaration, and instruct <br />the City Attorney to prepare a resolution denying <br />Appeal NO. 509 and approving CUP 84-14 and <br />affirming the decision of the Planning Ccmnission. <br /> <br />MOTION: Young <br /> <br />SECOND: Griset <br /> <br />VOTE: AYES: <br /> <br /> NOES: <br /> ABSENT: <br /> <br />Acosta, Griset, Johnson, Luxembourger, <br /> McGuigan, Young <br />Bricken <br />None FILE 625.15. <br /> <br />BID CALL <br /> <br />2.
