Personal <br />care items such as bar soap, razors, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and <br />shampoo are provided to inmates for maintenance of personal hygiene. <br />Staff requests shipments of personal care items on a quarterly basis in <br />order to maintain sufficient inventory. <br /> <br />On June 21, 2004, the City Council awarded a contract for a period of <br />one year with options for two one-year renewals. Bob Barker Company, <br />Inc. has agreed to renew the contract; however, the vendor has <br />requested a minimal increase due to an increase in fuel and shipping <br />costs. The vendor has performed satisfactorily during the past <br />contract period, and staff recommends the first renewal of the <br />contract. <br /> <br />228-1 <br /> <br />CS :383 <br />
