Highlights of this presentation are as follows: <br />• Measure M was approved by 55 percent of the voters in November <br />1990 after two failed attempts <br />• '/z cent local transportation sales tax for twenty years <br />• Total revenue estimated to be $4.2 Billion; revenue stops on April 1, <br />2011 <br />• Measure M can be extended only with 2/3 majority voter approval <br />• 43% of revenue from Measure M dedicated to freeways; 32% to <br />Streets and Roads; and 25% transit <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 268 JULY 18, 2005 <br />
