IV. Description of Work - in space below, describe the program to be funded during the <br />12-month contract period including, services to be provided, program goals, client <br />characteristics, & how grant funds will be utilized. <br />The Mariposa Family Program is designed to meet the special needs of women and <br />families in Santa Ana in a variety of counseling and life skills education programs. These <br />include: individual, couples, family, group, and crisis counseling, substance abuse education and <br />counseling, parenting classes (including a new series in Spanish), bereavement counseling and <br />support, therapeutic groups for men, women, children and teens, anger management and other <br />life skills education, occupational therapy assistance, and other forms of counseling and support. <br />As over 80% of the people served by Mariposa are low income, services are provided on a <br />sliding scale to enable clients to receive services according to their ability to pay. Mariposa's <br />goal is to help low-income women and their families resolve the problems they are experiencing, <br />so that they can go on to lead happy, healthy, productive lives.
