MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />January 21, 1985 <br /> <br />The meeting was Galled to order at 1:23 p.m., by Mayor Daniel E. <br />Griset, in Room 147, Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza. <br />Councilmembers present were Wilson B. Hart, P. Lee Johnson, R. W. <br />Luxe~nbourger, Patricia A. McGuigan, Dan Young and Mayor Griset. Also <br />present were City Manager Robert C. Bobb, City Attorney ~dward J. <br />Cooper and Clerk of the Council Janice C. Guy. Councilm~nber John <br />Acosta was absent, attending the Presidential Inauguration. <br /> <br />WORK STUDY SESSION <br /> <br />Clauset Centre U~date <br /> <br />Willi~n Lane, Traranell Crow Company, provided the Council with a brief <br />overview of a 700,000 square foot project valued at $100 million, <br />planned for construction in the Harbor and MacArthur area. He <br />indicated the develo~ent would include a parking structure, office <br />and retail uses, and a nine-story tower; and that Traranell Crow was both <br />the developer and leasing agent for the project which was slated to <br />start construction in September, 1985. <br /> <br />John Wayne Airport Expansion <br /> <br />Phillip Maurer, Mayor of Newport Beach, introduced a slide <br />presentation entitled "The Workable Airport Solution," which <br />demonstrated the necessity of considering envirorm~ental needs when <br />increasing air service for Orange County. <br /> <br />Inter-City Liaison Co~nittee Transportation Issue <br /> <br />Councilmember McGuigan provided a brief overview of a January 21 <br />meeting of the Inter-City Liaison Committee. She reported she had <br />been selected by the ICLC to represent the group before the Board of <br />Supervisors to express its concerns regarding traffic strategies and <br />capital improv~ent funding in the South Coast/Airport area, and would <br />subsequently report to the ICLC on January 31 the results of her <br />presentation to the Board of Supervisors. <br /> <br />Councilm~mbers discussed their concerns regarding Santa Ana's position <br />relative to freeway corridor develo~nent and required funding.
