COUNCIL AGENDA ITEMS <br /> <br />MAYOR'S UPDATE ON U.S. CONFERENCE OF MAYORS MEETING, WASHINGTON, <br />D.C. - JANUARY 16-19, 1985 <br /> <br />The Mayor reported on his recent trip to Washington, D.C. for the <br />U.S. Conference of Mayors meeting, indicating that the outlook for <br />Federal funding in the coming year was bleak. He noted that <br />representatives of the City had presented two proposals; one to <br />the Economic Development Administration regarding the City's <br />proposed Business Incubator Program, and a second to HUD relative <br />to tenant relocation assistance. He also reported that Secretary <br />of Transportation Dole had been invited to the grand opening of <br />the Transportation Center. <br /> <br />Councilm~nber McGuigan presented the Mayor with a certificate of <br />gratitude frc~ the Civic Center Barrio Housing Corporation and the <br />owner-builders of E1 Sueno Impesible, thanking the Mayor and the <br />City for making the opportunity of hc[ne ownership possible for 20 <br />families who might otherwise not have been able to own their home. <br /> <br />Councilmember Johnson reported to the Council the activities that <br />he had undertaken in the Mayor's absence from the City, including <br />receptions for Mayor Tom Bradley and Richard Jacques, among <br />others. <br /> <br />Councilm~nber Young requested a status report on the Police Foot <br />Patrol program by February 18.
