WORKSTUDY SESSION <br />Highlights of this presentation are as follows: <br />• Eighty trees were planted at the McFadden Triangle Reforestation <br />Project on Saturday June 18, 2005 <br />• A banquet honoring the Department's volunteers was held on June 16, <br />2005 <br />• Summer Sports programs include the following: <br />o Rookie Ball Baseball for ages 4-14 will be held at Jerome Park <br />from July 5th -August 27th <br />o Youth kayaking introduces youth ages 13-17 to kayaking and <br />rowing <br />o Swim lesions, recreation swim, Jr. Lifeguard Program, lap <br />swimming, Senior Fitness Swim and water polo will be <br />conducted at the City's pools <br />o Tennis for Youth and seniors at various City tennis courts <br />o All Star Little League games through July 118th at seven sites <br />o Youth and adult soccer at various locations <br />• Summer Recreation programs include the following: <br />o Vacation recreation from June 27th through August 26th at El <br />Salvador, Logan, Memorial, Jerome, Salgado and Sandpointe <br />for youth ages 5-12 years old — homework assistance, sports, <br />organized games, and excursions <br />o Family PRIDE activities at all centers <br />o Zoo Camp — week Ion summer summer day camps for children ages 6 <br />to 11 starting June 27t and ending August 17th — many animal <br />and fun activities and various excursions <br />o McFadden Learning and Technology Center services — a place <br />for computer assisted homework, and to learn the use of the <br />Internet <br />o Triangle Kid Zone — a unique after school program that provides <br />sports, games, homework assistance and field trips <br />0 103 leisure classes will be offered including, music, dance and <br />art for adults and children, local and family history, nature and <br />science, Santa Ana Zoo, martial arts, health and fitness, <br />sports/equestrian outdoors, special interest, excursions, and <br />special events <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 230 JUNE 20, 2005 <br />
