MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />February 4, 1985 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 1:20 p.m., by Mayor Daniel E. <br />Griset, in Room 147, Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza. <br />Councilmembers present were John Acosta, Wilson B. Hart, P. Lee <br />Johnson, R. W. Luxembourger, Patricia A. McGuigan, Dan Young and Mayor <br />Griset. Also present were City Manager Robert C. Bobb, City Attorney <br />Edward J. Cooper, and Clerk of the Council Janice C. Guy. <br /> <br />Work Study Session <br /> <br />The Mayor explained that the editors of The Register would not be <br />attending the work study session as planned, but that he and the City <br />Manager would arrange to meet with the The Re~ister representatives <br />and perhaps several Councilmembers in a small group in the near future. <br /> <br />Councilm~mbers discussed their concerns relative to Consent Calendar <br />itans. <br /> <br />Executive Session <br /> <br />The City Attorney distributed a coranunication to the Clerk of the <br />Council indicating the City Council would recess to Executive Session <br />pursuant to Goverr~nent Cede Section 54956.9 (A) to confer regarding <br />pending litigation which has been initiated formally, to wit, the <br />cases of McDonald vs. City of Santa Ana (Workers' Compensation) and <br />Robert Espinosa and Daniel Espinosa v. City of Santa Ana; and pursuant <br />to Government Code Section 54956.9 (B) (1) for the purpose of meeting <br />with the City Attorney regarding pending litigation (significant <br />exposure). <br /> <br />The Council recessed to Executive Session at 2:11 p.m., and reconvened <br />in the Council Chambers at 3:30 p.m., with all members present. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />Itsm Nos. 5B and 8C were removed from the Consent Calendar.
