(PSI) in September 2003 to provide maintenance services for <br />computer software and equipment for the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) <br />system. The CAD is the primary data communication tool for exchanging <br />information between police dispatchers and patrol officers who provide <br />emergency response to our community. The ability to continue to provide <br />specialized maintenance on this system is critical to the overall <br />effectiveness of police service. The PSI software is proprietary and can <br />only be serviced by Northrop Grumman Public Safety, Inc. Police Department <br />staff recommends the second renewal of the agreement for continued <br />maintenance, upgrades, and support for the CAD software.
