All buildings will be addressed off <br />either of these two private streets. <br /> <br />Analysis of the Issues <br /> <br />City Place was approved by the City Council on February 22, 2005 to <br />develop a mixed use proj ect consisting of residential and commercial <br />uses. Main Street Concourse LLC has filed Street Name No. 2005-02 in <br />order to name two private streets within the proposed mixed use project. <br />The applicant is proposing to name the private streets to provide <br />addresses for the buildings wi thin the proj ect . Addressing buildings <br />off these streets allows for quick identification and a more immediate <br />response time by the City's emergency response functions. The applicant <br />is proposing "Crescent Drive" for the primary crescent shaped street and <br />Jeanette Lane for the east/west street. In order to maintain continuity <br />with the City addressing system, each building will be addressed <br />according to existing surrounding block numbers (north 2700-3000 block <br />and east 100-600 block) . <br /> <br />The Santa Ana Municipal Code (SAMC) designates the Planning Commission as <br />the decision making body for the naming of all streets. In reaching a <br />decision, the Planning Commission shall give consideration to established <br />guidelines. The proposed street names meet the guidelines outlined in the <br />SAMC as the streets are not the continuation of any existing street and <br />the proposed street names do not cause confusion with other streets as <br />neither name is used in Santa Ana. As a result, it is recommended that <br />the Planning Commission approve Street Name No. 2005-02. <br /> <br />At its July 11, 2005 hearing, the Planning Commission continued the <br />matter to allow consideration of alternative street names. <br /> <br />CEQA Compliance <br /> <br />In accordance with the California <br />recommended action is not considered <br />environmental documentation is required. <br /> <br />Environmental Quality Act, <br />a CEQA proj ect.
