<br />Conditional Use Permit No. 2005-20 <br />July 25, 2005 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br />Findings of Fact <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />Will the proposed <br />contribute to the <br />community? <br /> <br />use provide a <br />general well <br /> <br />service or <br />being of <br /> <br />facility which will <br />the neighborhood or <br /> <br />The development of the Bowers Museum, as conditioned, will <br />allow the expansion of a regional museum providing cultural <br />arts and a banquet facility to further promote, enhance and <br />support the museum operation. A banquet facility will allow <br />the museum to host a cross section of social, academic and <br />community groups promoting education and enhancing city image <br />through a unique community asset. <br /> <br />B. will the proposed use under the circumstances of the particular case <br />be detrimental to the health, safety or general welfare of persons <br />residing or working in the vicinity? <br /> <br />The Bowers Museum banquet facility, as conditioned, is not <br />anticipated to present any detrimental affects to persons <br />residing or working in the area. Parking will be facilitated <br />through a combination of on and off-site parking <br />accommodations. The provision of a signalized intersection <br />adj acent to the new surface parking lots will further enhance <br />the circulation pattern for the area. Any anticipated impacts <br />to health, safety or welfare are sufficiently mitigated through <br />the conditions of approval imposed on this project. <br /> <br />C. Will the proposed use adversely affect the present economic <br />stability or future economic development of properties surrounding <br />the area? <br /> <br />The proposed banquet facility, as conditioned, is not <br />anticipated to create any negative or detrimental impacts on <br />the economic viability of the surrounding area. The allowance <br />of a banquet facility provides the Bowers Museum the ability to <br />host or compliment on-site functions that are anticipated to <br />draw people to the area. The Banquet use should provide a <br />positive addition to the surrounding area, which will <br />supplement and improve the existing Bowers Museum. <br /> <br />AA 05-4/CUP 05-20 <br />7!151~~o <br />
