NO. 05-089) <br /> <br />APPROVED <br />o As Recommended <br />o As Amended <br />o Ordinance on 1 st Reading <br />o Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />o Implementing Resolution <br />o Set Public Hearing For____ <br /> <br />/2d2 <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Award a contract to Brodart Company for cataloging services and the <br />purchase of books and materials for a one-year period in the amount not <br />to exceed $583,540. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Santa Ana Library has contracted with the Brodart Company for over <br />ten years for the purchase of books and materials, as well as for <br />cataloging services. Brodart performs the necessary function of <br />identifying new books by affixing labels and cataloging in accordance <br />with Library direction. <br /> <br />Library staff has researched the services provided by the various <br />cataloging suppliers. As a result, Library staff has determined that <br />Brodart Company is the sole source provider for cataloging Spanish <br />language publications.
