ORAL COM~3N ICAT IONS <br /> <br />The City Manager informed Councilmembers of several upcoming meetings <br />and events including a meeting of the School Liaison Co~nittee with <br />representatives of the Santa Ana Unified School District on Friday, <br />April 26, 1985; a meeting of staff with Urbatec representatives on <br />Wednesday, April 24, 1985; and a kick-off party of the Cultural Events <br />and Visitors Center at the Bowers Muse~n on May 1, 1985. <br /> <br />Councilmember McGuigan requested that Councilmembers submit n~nes of <br />any possible volunteers for Rose Parade c~,~,ittees to her. She also <br />informed Councilmenbers that Hal Gosse had been selected Chairman of <br />the 1986 Rose Parade Float Committee. <br /> <br />Councilmember McGuigan alerted the Council to a possible conflict <br />between the upcoming League Legislative Conference scheduled for May <br />20 and 21, and the City Council and Redevelol~nent Agency meetings <br />scheduled on those s~ne dates. After consulting their personal <br />calendars, Councilmembers informally decided to concentrate their <br />efforts on the Tuesday session of the League thereby eliminating the <br />conflict with the Council meeting and possibly, rescheduling the <br />Coranunity R~develo~nent Agency meeting to May 28. <br /> <br />In response to Councilmember McGuigan's request that staff investigate <br />possible pre-~nption by the Federal Communications Co~,nission relative <br />to satellite antennas, the matter was referred to staff by the <br />unanimous informal consent of the Council. <br /> <br />In response to Councilm~nber Acosta's request relative to establishing <br />an advisory board for the Downtown Develol~nent Conmission, the Clerk <br />w~s directed to circulate the original memo on that subject prepared <br />by the Downtown Develol~nent Co~mission Director to the Council. <br /> <br />Councilme~nber Johnson inquired as to which department was m~nitoring <br />the Business Improvement District Association activities and was <br />informed by Assistant City Manager Rex Swanson that a report on the <br />matter would be suk, nitted to Council. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />At 8:28 p.m., the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br /> c. cuy <br />~Clerk of the Council' ' <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> <br />174 APRIL 23, 1985 <br /> <br /> <br />
