MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />May 28, 1985 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:08 p.m., by Mayor Daniel E. Griset in <br />the basement conference room of the Standard Concrete Building, 117 West <br />Fourth Street. Councilmerabers present were John Acosta, Wilson B. Hart, <br />P. Lee Johnson, Patricia A. McGuigan and Mayor Griset. Also present were <br />City Manager Robert C. Bobb, City Attorney Edward J. Cooper and Clerk of <br />the Council Janice C. Guy. Councilmenbers R. W. Luxembourger and Dan <br />Young were absent. <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br />CO~3NITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY <br /> <br />At 7:09 p.m., the Council recessed to the Community Redevelo~nent Agency <br />and reconvened at 8:22 p.m., with the same members present. <br /> <br />COUNCIL CO~I~JNICATIONS <br /> <br />Councilm~nber McGuigan inquired as to whether parking rates for the <br />downtown parking garage required approval by City Council. The City <br />Attorney informed Councilm~n%ber McGuigan that Assessment District #246, <br />the financing tool used for constructing the parking garage,did not <br />contain any such requirement. The City Manager recor~aended that in the <br />future, parking lot rates be set by Council resolution. <br /> <br />Jack McCullough, downtown businessman, informed the Council that when <br />Assessment District %246 was originally established, it required a Parking <br />Cor~nission, one of whose responsibilities was the setting of rates for the <br />parking garage. <br /> <br />JOINT MEETING - CO~T~3NITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY <br /> <br />AND DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT CO~ISSION <br /> <br />By unanimous informal consent, the Council agreed to defer the June 18 <br />meeting of the Community Redevelopment Agency until June 25 and to hold <br />that meeting in conjunction with the Downtown Development Con~nission in <br />the City Council Ch~nbers at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />ORAL COM~3NICATIONS <br /> <br />Zika Djokovich, downtown businessman, addressed Council recon~nending that <br />a parking authority be established for the City. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> <br />MAY 28, 1985 <br /> <br /> <br />
