<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005-085 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCil OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA TO AMEND THE CURRENT ANNUAL BUDGET <br />TO ADD ONE POSITION IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCil OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOllOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. On June 20, 2005, the City Council passed and adopted Ordinance No. <br />NS-2687, establishing the City's Annual Budget and authorizing position <br />allocations for Fiscal Year 2005-2006. The Ordinance also sets forth the <br />requirement that alterations in the allocation of authorized positions be <br />reviewed and approved by the City Council. <br /> <br />B. The Police Department has applied for and received a grant award from <br />the State of California, Office of Homeland Security for the FY 2005 Urban <br />Areas Security Initiative (UASI) grant program in the amount of <br />$8,220,754. The terms of the Grant contain numerous guidelines and <br />requirements with which the Department must comply. Additionally, the <br />Police Department has determined a need to more effectively meet the <br />increased management and monitoring responsibilities associated with the <br />Grant as required by the State of California, Office of Homeland Security <br />programs. <br /> <br />C. The Police Chief proposes to add a Police Lieutenant position to the <br />Police Department's budget to effectively manage, monitor, and insure <br />compliance with the requirements of the FY 05 UASI Grant. <br /> <br />D. It is now desired that the Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 2005-2006, as <br />amended, be further amended in order to effect this change. <br /> <br />Section 2: That the Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 2005-2006, as amended, <br />be further amended by adding one Police Lieutenant position as shown below: <br /> <br />Class Title <br />Police Lieutenant <br /> <br />4-Step Salary Rate <br />Ranqe No. <br />754 <br /> <br />Annual Salary (Min-Max) <br />($99,228-114,924) <br /> <br />Section 3: That except as amended by this Resolution, all other provisions of <br />the Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 2005-2006, as amended, shall remain in full force <br />and effect. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2005-085 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br />20C-5 <br />
