Reject the bid from Municipal Maintenance Equipment, Inc. as <br />nonresponsive to the specification. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Award a contract <br />purchase of one <br />$32,037.79. <br /> <br />to Tennant Sales <br />sidewalk vacuum <br /> <br />and Service <br />sweeper in <br /> <br />Company for <br />the amount <br /> <br />the <br />of <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Public Works Agency's Maintenance Services Division maintains over <br />400 miles of streets and sidewalks within the City. Sidewalk cleaning <br />including the fence rows along major arterials is handled by two <br />employees using backpack blowers and brooms to pick up the accumulated <br />debris by hand and deposit into a truck bed. Present health issues <br />regarding air born dust particulates and late night noise is a concern. <br />The purchase of a self contained sidewalk vacuum sweeper will address <br />the dust and noise issues and allow the crews to perform more detailed <br />cleaning in less time. <br /> <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on August 19 and 22, <br />bids were solicited.
