<br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br /> <br />~ <br />~ <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br /> <br />SEPTEMBER 19, 2005 <br /> <br />TITLE: <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />o As Recommended <br />o As Amended <br />o Ordinance on 151 Reading <br />o Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />o Implementing Resolution <br />o Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br />AGREEMENT RENEWAL FOR <br />PARAMEDIC BILLING <br /> <br />rj\ .,( <br /> <br />~~;~~):4~-~_ <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and the <br />Clerk of the Council to renew the agreement with Wittman Enterprises to <br />provide paramedic and ambulance billing and collection services for an <br />amount equal to 6.8 percent of monthly receipts for a three-year term, not <br />to exceed $210,000 annually. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />For several years City Council has approved agreements with Wittman <br />Enterprises for paramedic and ambulance billing and collection services. <br />The agreement included is for a three-year term with two one-year renewal <br />options. Wittman offers the needed performance and expertise to continue <br />the current high rate of billing and collections for these services. <br />Wittman is not requesting a rate increase and staff recommends the renewal <br />of the agreement. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br /> <br />Funds for the agreement are available for FY 2005-2006 in the Fire <br />Department, Fire Suppression, Other Contractual Services account (account <br />no. 11-323-6291). <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FUNDS AND ACCOUNTS: <br /> <br />I <br />v <br />_:fi <br /> <br />'v '~ (( ..--_;, r:===- <br />Phillip M.
