<br />AGR-3594 C:2 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />SEP 1 5 Z005 <br /> <br />O:cM <br />(I.- .I~r,(l) <br /> <br />Contract No. A-200S-110 <br /> <br />AGREEMENT UNDER THE WORKFORCE INVESTMENT ACT <br /> <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this ~ day of June ,20 05 , by and between the <br />City of Santa Ana, a charter city and municipal corporation duly organized and existing under the <br />Constitution and laws of the State of California ("CITY") and the City of Anaheim. a municipal <br />corporation and charter city, ("CONTRACTOR"). <br /> <br />W-I-T-N-E-S-S-E- T-H <br /> <br />Recitals: <br /> <br />A. CITY has been designated a Local Workforce Investment Area (LWIA) under <br />the Workforce Investment Act of 1998, Public Law 105-220 ("the Act"). <br /> <br />B. The State of California has created the L WIA to administer the Act programs <br />operated by the State of California pursuant to the Act. <br /> <br />C. As a L WIA, CITY is entitled to receive federal funds to establish programs to <br />prepare economically disadvantaged adults and youths for entry into the labor market and to provide <br />job training to those individuals who are economically disadvantaged or otherwise face serious barriers <br />in obtaining productive employment. One goal of California's Workforce Investment System is to <br />provide youth and adults with the opportunities to achieve career goals that will allow them to <br />successfully compete in the labor market and prepare them for higher education. <br /> <br />D. CONTRACTOR is experienced in operating education, training and <br />employment programs for economically disadvantaged individuals for entry into the labor market <br />("said program"). <br /> <br />E. <br />California law. <br /> <br />CONTRACTOR IS willing to operate said program pursuant to the Act and <br /> <br />WHEREFORE, for and in consideration of the respective and mutual covenants and <br />promises hereinafter contained and made, and subject to all the terms and conditions hereof. the parties <br />hereto do hereby agree as follows: <br /> <br />Page 1 of 15 <br />
