The Council recessed at 10:34 p.m., and reconvened at 10:51 p.m., with <br />the s~ue members present. <br /> <br />Counci~rs c~ented on the Traffic Plan, and requested additional <br />infonuation regarding statistics on commuter vs. local traffic, the <br />impacts of the proposed diverters on local traffic, the effects of the <br />signal modification at Bristol and Memory Lane on the no-right-turn <br />restriction at Flower and M~nory Lane, the possibility of using a <br />signal instead of a diverter at Flower and Ross Streets, and the pos- <br />sibility of using other traffic control mechanisms than stop signs. <br /> <br />By the unanimous infonnal consent of the Council, consideration of <br />this matter was continued to September 17, 1985. FILE 1000 <br /> 1040 <br /> <br />BOWERS MUSEUM CORPORATION <br /> <br />The Council recessed to the Bowers Muse~n Corporation at 11:10 p.m., <br />and reconvened at 11:15 p.m., with the ss~e members present. <br /> <br />ORAL COPg~JNICATIONS <br /> <br />Frank Yaeger, 2634 North Laird, addressed Council requesting informa- <br />tion as to how a traffic study might bepefonned in his neighborhood <br />and was referred to the City Manager. <br /> <br />COUNCIL AG~qDA ITEMS <br /> <br />Councilmeu~ber Luxembourger inquired as to why a bus bay was not being <br />installed in front of the Bowers Musetm/ along Main Street. The City <br />Manager indicated staff would investigate this request as part of its <br />reevaluation of improv~anent plans for the Bowers Museum. Council- <br />meuber Luxembourger also requested staff provide him with a copy of <br />the bond repayment schedule for the Redevelopment Agency. <br /> <br />Mayor Griset requested staff initiate abatement efforts relative to <br />the recent upsurge of rug sales at various outdoor sites in the City. <br /> <br />Councilm~mber Acosta again urged staff to abate car sales at First and <br />Daisy Streets. <br /> <br />Councilmember Lux~ubourger updated the Council relative to activities <br />of the Inter-County Airport Authority, indicating the Authority had <br />received a request from Newport Beach to join the Authority, and that <br />this item would be taken under consideration at an Authority meeting <br />on September 4. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> <br />421 <br /> <br />SEPTemBER 3, 1985 <br /> <br /> <br />
