<br />3.3 <br /> <br />hour unpaid meal period shall be made by the <br />Fire Chief or his or her designee. <br /> <br />2. Alternate Work Period Schedules <br />Employees. <br /> <br />207(k) Exempt <br /> <br />a. 207(k) 24-Hour Shift Schedule. <br />Firefighters, Fire Engineers, Fire Captains, <br />and Paramedics who are assigned to fire <br />suppression duty are assigned to a work <br />schedule consisting of three (3) 24 hour on- <br />duty shifts and six (6) 24 hour off-duty <br />periods every nine (9) day FLSA Work Period. <br />This work schedule is arranged in the <br />following manner: ON-off-ON-off-ON-off-off- <br />off-off. This recurring nine (9) day work <br />cycle results in a workweek of 72 hours. <br /> <br />b. Reopener - Al ternati ve Work Schedule. During <br />the term of this Agreement, the City and <br />Association agree to reopen this Article for <br />the purpose of discussing the feasibility of <br />implementing an al ternati ve work schedule for <br />employees assigned to fire suppression. <br /> <br />Miscellaneous. Special provisions <br />employees assigned to the 24 hour <br />follows: <br /> <br />pertaining to affected <br />shift schedule are as <br /> <br />· Such members shall report to work at 7: 30 <br />a . m. (0730 hours) . <br />· Such members shall be provided two (2) work <br />breaks, one in the a.m. and one in the p.m. <br />· The lunch break for such members will be from <br />11:30 a.m. (1130 hours) to 1:30 p.m. (1330 <br />hours) and will include shopping, cooking, <br />eating, and clean up time. Such break will <br />be extended, not to exceed a cumulative two <br />hour time period, to the extent that the <br />lunch break is interrupted by an emergency <br />call. <br />· The City shall provide time to participate in <br />physical fitness activities daily between <br />8 : 00 a. m. and 5: 00 p. m. (0800 hours and 1700 <br />hours) . Members participating in physical <br />fitness activities will shower and return to <br />proper uniform within a reasonable time <br />following physical fitness activities. <br /> <br />8 <br />
