CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />IV RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Renew the contract with Orange County Striping Service, Inc. for traffic <br />line painting and traffic sign maintenance for a one-year period in an <br />annual amount not to exceed $505,275. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Public Works Agency's Street Maintenance Division is responsible for <br />maintaining the streets of Santa Ana. In order to do so, a contract for <br />annual traffic line painting and traffic sign maintenance is required. <br />Contract services include the installation and removal of traffic <br />stripes, pavement markings, curb markings and raised pavement markers. <br />In addition, the contract will provide for the installation and removal <br />or relocation of traffic signs. <br /> <br />On September 20, 2004, the City Council awarded a contract to Orange <br />County Striping Service, Inc. for a one-year period, with provision for <br />three one-year renewals. The vendor has performed satisfactorily during <br />the past contract period and has agreed to renew the contract without an <br />increase in pricing.
