The items are <br />purchased through the Central Stores warehouse for distribution. The <br />contract for the supplies is designed to provide quality products at <br />significant savings based on quantity pricing. <br /> <br />On October 4, 2004, the City Council awarded contracts for fire <br />hydrants and extensions to Sand J Supply Co., Inc. and repair kits to <br />Dangelo Company, Inc. for a one-year period, with provision for three <br />one-year renewals. Sand J Supply Co., Inc. has agreed to renew the <br />contract and has requested a five percent increase due to increases <br />from the manufacturer as a result of rising costs for raw materials. <br />The vendor has performed satisfactorily during the past contract <br />period, and staff recommends the first renewal of the contract, which <br />includes awarding the fire hydrant repair kits to S & J Supply Co., <br />Inc. Due to a requested price increase of 18 percent from Dangelo <br />Company, Inc. for fire hydrant repair kits, the contract will not be <br />renewed. <br /> <br />22F-1 <br /> <br />C.,'. j~.J <br />
