NO. 05-108) <br /> <br />APPROVED <br />o As Recommended <br />o As Amended <br />o Ordinance on 1 st Reading <br />o Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />o Implementing Resolution <br />o Set Public Hearing For___ ~ <br /> <br />f1L4:2- <br /> <br />CI Y MANAGER <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Award a contract to Haaker Equipment Company for large equipment parts <br />and service for a three-year period in the annual amount not to exceed <br />$20,000. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Fleet Maintenance Division of the Finance and Management Services <br />Agency is responsible for the maintenance and repair of large <br />equipment. Parts are replaced in order to maintain safety and <br />effectiveness. A parts inventory is maintained for immediate <br />availability. As such, infrequently required parts are ordered as <br />needed. Shop repairs on large equipment are jobbed out to manufacturer- <br />authorized repair shops based on the work schedule of Fleet <br />Maintenance. In 2002 the City purchased one Vactor sewer truck and four <br />Elgin street sweepers. As the equipment ages, repair costs have <br />increased.
