<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005-097 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA TO AMEND RESOLUTION NO. 82-110 TO <br />EFFECT CERTAIN CHANGES TO THE CITY'S BASIC <br />CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION PLAN TO ADD ONE <br />NEW FULL TIME CLASSIFICATION TITLE IN THE FIRE <br />DEPARTMENT, AND TO AMEND THE ANNUAL BUDGET TO <br />REALLOCATE ONE POSITION. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the City of Santa Ana <br />requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a position <br />classification and pay plan subject to civil service rules and regulations <br />and the approval of the City Council. <br /> <br />B. On August 2, 1982, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution <br />No. 82-110, revising and re-establishing the Basic Classification and <br />Compensation Plan for Officers and Employees of the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />C. On June 20, 2005, the City Council passed and adopted Ordinance No. <br />NS-2687, which established the City's Annual Budget, authorized position <br />allocations for Fiscal Year 2005-2006, and set forth the requirement that <br />alterations in the allocation of authorized positions be reviewed and <br />approved by the City Council. <br /> <br />D. In order to continue to provide efficient and effective fire communications <br />services and maintain a classification and compensation plan that reflects <br />the new reorganized structure, the Fire Chief proposes to create one (1) <br />full time classification, and to reallocate one (1) position in the current <br />Annual Budget. <br /> <br />Section 2: That Section 3 of Resolution No. 82-110, as amended, is hereby <br />further amended by adding the following classification title effective 11/01/05, at the <br />Salary Rate Range indicated: <br /> <br />Class Title <br />Fire Communications <br />Supervisor <br /> <br />6-Step Salary Rate <br />Ranqe No. <br />634 <br /> <br />Annual Salary (Min-Max) <br />($55,212-70,512) <br /> <br />Section 3: That Ordinance No. NS-2687, the Annual Budget for Fiscal Year <br />2005-2006, as amended, shall be further amended by reallocating one position in the <br />Fire Department from the classification title of Fire Communications Manager (AM) to <br />Fire Communications Supervisor. <br /> <br />55A-3 <br />
