Bristol, offered an apology to Councilmember <br />McGuigan and James McGuigan for r~narks he had made in error to the <br />local press. <br /> <br />COUNCIL AGENDA ITEMS <br /> <br />Councilm~nber. Acosta inquired as to whether the Mexican Consulate was <br />considering a Santa Ana office. The City Manager indicated the <br />Consulate did not have the funds needed to do so. Mr. Acosta <br />requested that the City Manager so notify the Latin Conmunityby <br />making such an announc~nent in a Spanish newspaper. Councilmember <br />Acosta also inquired as to the status of the helicopter study, and the <br />report on the revenue generated by Eddie West Field. <br /> <br />Councilmemfoer Young requested an updated me~o on the bike path in the <br />Saddleback High School area of the City, and a compressed timetable <br />for the City's street median program. <br /> <br />Councilmember Johnson pointed out that people watching the Cable TV <br />broadcast of Council meetings had a difficult time following the <br />proceedings without agendas. He welcomed any suggestions to help the <br />viewers. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hart requested that Phil Freeland have Code Enforcement <br />Inspectors look into the signs at the northeast corner of Tustin and <br />17th Streets for possible violations of the Code. <br /> <br />Councilmember McGuigan raised the issue of car sales on city streets <br />on Sundays. Also she requested the Executive Director of the Public <br />Services Agency to look into the letter from Mrs. Dansiger to Mr. <br />Grosse with respect to street lights and tree trin~ning. <br /> <br />Councilmember Luxembourger pointed out that the white street lines are <br />fading in many areas of the City, and that some of the reflector <br />buttons were going bad. <br /> <br />Mayor Griset asked staff to prepare a mid-year financial report to <br />Council and the Finance Cor~nittee detailing the trends in <br />revenues/expenditures and impending financial reductions projected, <br />especially in the area of GRS funds. He indicated the report should <br />begin to develop seme preliminary reco~nendations for alterations of <br />allocations, as well as an analysis of personnel costs including <br />salary savings.
