MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />March 3, 1986 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 2:05 p.m. by Mayor Daniel E. <br />Griset in Room 831, City Hall, 20 Civic Center Plaza. Councilmembers <br />present were John Acosta, Wilson B. Hart, P. Lee Johnson, R. W. <br />Luxembourger, Patricia A. McGuigan, Dan Young and Mayor Griset. Also <br />present were City Manager Robert C. Bobb, City Attorney Edward J. <br />Cooper and Clerk of the Council Janice C. Guy. <br /> <br />Council Informal Discussion <br /> <br />The Mayor announced that no requests had been received from <br />Councilmembers for placement of items on the Council's informal <br />discussion agenda, and asked if Councilmembers had any subjects they <br />wished to discuss, but no items were proposed by the Councilmembers. <br /> <br />The City Manager reported that the new Street Sweeping Program would <br />begin on May 1, and distributed a copy of a notice which he indicated <br />would be distributed to the residents in the next water billing cycle. <br />Councilmembers briefly discussed strategies for notifying the public <br />of the Street Sweeping Program. <br /> <br />Councilmembers discussed Consent Calendar items. <br /> <br />At 2:56 p.m., the Council recessed and reconvened at 4:22 p.m. in <br />Room 147, Council Chambers, with all members present, and immediately <br />recessed to Closed Session. <br /> <br />CLOSED SESSION <br /> <br />The Clerk of the Council announced that the Council was recessing to <br />Closed Session pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(A) to <br />confer with the City Attorney regarding pending litigation which has <br />been initiated formally and to which the City is a party, to wit, <br />Morningham vs. the City of Santa Ana, and litigation, identification <br />of which would jeopardize the City's ability to conclude existing <br />settlement negotiations to its advantage; pursuant to Government Code <br />Section 54956.9(B)(1) to confer with the City Attorney regarding <br />pending litigation (significant exposure); and pursuant to Government <br />Code Section 54957.6 to meet with its designated representatives <br />regarding labor relations matters. <br /> <br />At 6:05 p.m., the Council reconvened and recessed to dinner in Room <br />831, City Hall. <br /> <br />The Council reconvened in the Council Chambers at 7:35 p.m. with all <br />members present. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 94 MARCH 3, 1986 <br /> <br /> <br />
