<br />According to the Santa Ana Fire Department, implementation <br />of the proposed project would not significantly increase <br />the demands for fire protection services over current <br />levels of demand within the project area and that under <br />existing levels of manpower and equipment, they would have <br />the ability to provide adequate fire protection services. <br />Additionally, through the City's development review <br />process, the fire department has reviewed and determined <br />that the proposed project would provide adequate fire <br />protection facilities and services. <br /> <br />Police Protection: Less Than Significant Impacts <br /> <br />The Santa Ana Police Department would provide police <br />protection services for the proposed project. According to <br />the Santa Ana Police Department, implementation of the <br />proposed project would not significantly increase the <br />demand for police protection services over current levels <br />of demand within the project area and that under existing <br />levels of manpower and equipment, they would have the <br />ability to provide adequate police protection services. <br /> <br />Schools: Less Than Significant Impact <br /> <br />The project site is within the boundaries of the Orange <br />Unified School District (OUSD). The proposed project would <br />not directly generate a demand for additional school <br />services. However, the project would be subject to school <br />impact fees to address cumulative impacts within OUSD. To <br />help fund new construction of school facilities, OUSD has <br />an adopted school impact fee of $.36 per square feet per <br />square foot of commercial area. The payment of fees to the <br />district would mitigate impacts on school services to a <br />level considered less than significant. <br /> <br />Parks, Other Public Facilities: Less Than Significant <br />Impact <br /> <br />The City of Santa Ana presently operates 35 facilities <br />within its parks and recreation network, along with several <br />public school grounds. The park and recreation facilities <br />within the City of Santa Ana include 342.5 acres of lands, <br />which is equivalent to approximately one acre per 1,000 <br />residents. According to the City's General Plan Land Use <br />Element EIR, the City's current goal for parkland is 2.0 <br />acres per 1,000 residents.
