MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />March 17, 1986 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 1:52 p.m. by Mayor Daniel E. <br />Griset in Room 831, City Hall, 20 Civic Center Plaza. Councilmembers <br />present were John Acosta, Wilson B. Hart, Po Lee Johnson, R. W. <br />Luxembourger, Patricia A. McGuigan, Dan Young and Mayor Griset. Also <br />present were City Manager Robert C. Bobb, City Attorney Edward J. <br />Cooper and Clerk of the Council Janice C. Guy. <br /> <br />Councilmembers informally discussed the following: County Search for <br />Jail Facilities, Santa Aha Magazine, Charter Review Commission Public <br />Hearings, a letter from Jim Lowman, the Arterial Highway Financing <br />Plan (A.H.F.P.) and a City Council Workshop. <br /> <br />Former Congressman Jerry Patterson addressed the Council ~ith respect <br />to the Jail Facility. <br /> <br />The Council recessed at 4:18 p.m. and reconvened in Room 147 at <br />4:41 p.m. with all Councilmembers present except Councilmember <br />McGuigan. <br /> <br />STREET SWEEPING PROGRAM <br /> <br />The Executive Director of the Public Services Agency presented an <br />overview of a proposed new street sweeping program. Maintenance <br />Manager Larry Christian discussed specific details of the program <br />including such items as increased sanitation charges to offset the <br />cost of the program, installation of signs to make the public aware <br />of street sweeping times, and the hiring of additional parking <br />control personnel under the direction of the Police Department for <br />parking enforcement. <br /> <br />Darl Incledon, from the Neighborhood Preservation Office, reported on <br />publicity that had been developed to inform residents regarding the <br />street sweeping program. <br /> <br />Councilmembers discussed concerns relative to Consent Calendar items. <br /> <br />At 5:27 p.m., the Council recessed and reconvened in the Council <br />Chambers with all members present. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 108 MARCH 17, 1986 <br /> <br /> <br />
