Description of Work - in space below, describe the program to be funded during the 12- <br />month contract period including, services to be provided, program goals, client <br />characteristics, & how grant funds will be utilized. <br />Camp Fire will provide 6 sessions of A Gift of Giving to low income and vey low - income teens in <br />neighborhoods in Santa Ana. A Gift of Giving was developed by Camp Fire's national organization and <br />reflects out long held values that self- direction and "giving service" are important for health positive <br />youth development A Gift of Giving is an 5 -10 session curriculum -based program guiding youth through <br />the process of identifying community needs, planning and implementing a service project to address a <br />selected need, and de- briefing and celebrating their experience. <br />The goal of the program is that 90 youth will become more positive about their own futures while also <br />becoming a catalyst for positive change in their communities. Specifically, Camp Fire sets the target that <br />75% of participants completing the program wil l: <br />(1) Identify that they learned a new skill <br />(2) Identify the appropriate steps required to conduct a community service project <br />(3) Report an interest in continuing to volunteer in their community <br />Ex A <br />
