<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005-109 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2005-066 TO <br />SUPPLEMENT THE PROVISIONS PROVIDING FOR THE <br />CONTINUATION OF ADDITIONAL PARTIALLY-PAID <br />TEMPORARY MILITARY LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR CITY <br />EMPLOYEES CALLED TO ACTIVE DUTY WITH THE ARMED <br />FORCES AND CONTINUATION OF BENEFITS FOR THEIR <br />DEPENDENTS <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. On July 5, 2005, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2005-066, which <br />amended Resolution No. 2001-065 and extended until June 30, 2006, the <br />provisions for an additional partially paid military leave of absence for each <br />full-time officer or employee of the City who has been or will be called to <br />active military service for more than 30 continuous days with the Armed <br />Forces of the United States in connection with the current military crisis and <br />for continuation of benefits for their dependents. <br /> <br />B. The United States military is now also currently calling reservists to active <br />military duty to assist in disaster relief efforts in the Gulf of Mexico region of <br />the United States. The City Council wishes to help those City employees and <br />their families with financial hardships resulting from being called to active <br />military duty for more than 30 continuous days in connection with the disaster <br />relief efforts in the Gulf of Mexico region. <br /> <br />Section 2. That Subsection "F" be added to Section 1 of Resolution No. 2005-066 <br />to read as follows: <br /> <br />The United States military is now also currently calling reservists to active <br />military duty to assist in disaster relief efforts in the Gulf of Mexico region of <br />the United States.
