<br />SLESF FY 2005/06 Grant <br />November 21, 2005 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />The Bicycle Rapid Response Team is a supplement to the standard mobile <br />field force configuration and will be deployed in situations of anticipated <br />civil unrest. Such situations may include protests, demonstrations, high <br />profile events, and other gatherings of large groups of people. The <br />Bicycle Rapid Response Team provides the ability to maneuver officers <br />through heavy pedestrian traffic and obstructions that would prohibit other <br />emergency vehicles. The team may also be used to respond to requests for <br />mutual aid from local law enforcement agencies in Orange County. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br /> <br />Approval of the appropriation adjustment will enhance the SLESF FY 2005/06 <br />Grant revenue account (account no. 128-01-5370) and expenditure accounts <br />(account no. 128-349-various) by $507,457. <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FUNDS AND ACCOUNTS: <br /> <br />, l <br />,.j(J~_-<J \,1- / /0 ---. <br /> <br />Paul M.
