<br />Contracts Award for Firefighter Protective <br />Clothing & Fire Equipment <br />(Spec. No. 05-102) <br />November 21, 2005 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />In addition to the protective clothing, the Fire Department requires <br />equipment such as ball valve shutoffs, nozzle tips, connectors, and <br />swivel adapters to outfit a new fire pumper that was recently purchased <br />to replace a 1981 Crown pumper. The equipment on the Crown pumper is <br />outdated and does not meet current standards. <br /> <br />The notice inviting bids <br />and bids were solicited. <br />received is as follows: <br /> <br />was advertised on September 12 and 14, 2005, <br />A summary of the bid invitations and bids <br /> <br />8 Invitations for Bid mailed <br />1 Invitation for Bid mailed to Santa Ana vendor <br />2 Bids received <br /> <br />Bids were received and opened on September 22, 2005. The bids were <br />evaluated based upon standards established by the Santa Ana Fire <br />Department. Allstar Fire Equipment, Inc. bid an alternate turnout coat <br />and trouser that has not been approved by the Santa Ana Fire Department <br />and is therefore nonresponsive. However, the Santa Ana Fire Department <br />has agreed to wear test the alternate turnout trouser and coat for <br />future purchases. The bid received from L.N.
