Authorize the City Manager to accept a Hazardous Materials Emergency <br />Preparedness Grant in the amount of $32,000. <br /> <br />2. Approve an Appropriation Adj ustment appropriating $ 32,000 of grant <br />funds and transferring from the General Fund $8,000 in required <br />matching funds into the OES Hazardous Materials Emergency <br />Preparedness Grant revenue account (account no. 146-01-5361) and <br />appropriating the same into the OES - Hazardous Materials Emergency <br />Preparedness Grant expenditure account (account no. 146-331-various). <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The State of California, Governor's Office of Emergency Services (OES) <br />has awarded the City of Santa Ana Fire Department a Hazardous Materials <br />Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) Grant. The grant is for $40,000, <br />consisting of $32,000 in grant funds and a required 20% ($8,000) in <br />matching funds. The grant is for the development or updating of an <br />emergency response plan to mitigate potential incidents involving the <br />transporting of hazardous materials through the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />20C-1 <br />
