Officers are required to re-qualify regularly to maintain <br />proficiency in the use of firearms. The contracts for ammunition are <br />designed to provide quality products at significant savings based on <br />quantity pricing. <br /> <br />On November 3, 2003, the City Council awarded contracts to Adamson <br />Police Products, formerly Adamson Industries; Dooley Enterprises, <br />Inc.; and San Diego Police Equipment Co., Inc. for a one-year period, <br />with provision for two one-year renewals. The vendors have agreed to <br />the second renewal option to the contracts, however, San Diego Police <br />Equipment has requested a minimal price increase for practice <br />ammunition due to manufacturer's increases. Dooley's Enterprises and <br />Adamson Police Products have agreed to renew the contract without an <br />increase in pricing. The recommended vendors have performed <br />satisfactorily during the past contract period. Staff recommends the <br />renewal of the contracts. <br /> <br />22C-1 <br /> <br />CS 383 <br />
