<br />CITY COUNCil MEETING DATE: <br /> <br />~ <br />~ <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />CLERK OF COUNCil USE ONLY: <br /> <br />NOVEMBER 21, 2005 <br />TITLE: <br /> <br />AGREEMENT AMENDMENT FOR <br />LIBRARY AUTOMATION SYSTEM <br />SERVICE AND SUPPORT <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />o As Recommended <br />o As Amended <br />o Ordinance on 151 Reading <br />o Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />o Implementing Resolution <br />o Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br />*u <br /> <br />Otil!J12~ <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and the <br />Clerk of the Council to amend the agreement with The Library Corporation, <br />Inc. to provide two years of database subscription service and <br />maintenance, for a total amount not to exceed $60,000. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />On June 16, 2003, the City Council approved an agreement between the City <br />of Santa Ana and The Library Corporation, Inc. to provide a library <br />automation system. The Library Corporation, Inc. has provided the Library <br />wi th a web based client server. The system offers integrated library <br />automation, which provides increased functionality for staff and ease of <br />use for patrons. <br /> <br />The database subscription service and maintenance will continue to provide <br />uninterrupted service to the Library and its patrons. This service <br />includes telephone support, licensed software updates and enhancements, <br />staff training, online access to cataloging resources, and enhanced <br />content databases.
