MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />JULY 19, 1986 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 8:19 a.m., in Room 831, City Hall, 20 Civic <br />Center Plaza, by Mayor Daniel E. Griset. Councilmembers present were John <br />Acosta, P. Lee Johnson, R. W. Luxembourger, Dan Young and Mayor Griset. Also <br />present were City Manager David N. Ream, City Attorney Edward J. Cooper and <br />Clerk of the Council Janice C. Guy. <br /> <br />Councilmembers Patricia A. McGuigan and Wilson B. Hart joined the meeting at <br />8:19 a.m. and 8:45 a.m., respectively. <br /> <br />BUDGET REVIEW <br /> <br />PUBLIC SERVICES AGENCY <br /> <br />The Executive Director of the Public Services Agency introduced his budget <br />team, and presented an overview of the Division's budget for the coming year, <br />explaining the three major functional areas of the Agency were: Engineering <br />Services, Maintenance Services and Enterprise Funds. <br /> <br />The Maintenance Manager, Traffic Engineer and City Engineer presented projects <br />planned for the coming year in each of their respective areas and specific <br />details of their division's budget. <br /> <br />Councilmembers discussed various functions and responsibilities of the Agency, <br />including, but not limited to, tree trimming, weed abatement, median <br />maintenance, leasing of the Regional Transportation Center, installation of <br />COP signs, trash collection and street widening. <br /> <br />Councilmember Acosta asked that the weed abatement process be made a subject <br />of a future Council informal discussion; the city Manager indicated he would <br />like to see the request for proposal process also discussed at an informal <br />Council session. <br /> <br />The City Manager indicated he would provide the Council with an update on the <br />responsibilities of the Urban Forester, currently assigned to the Planning <br />Department. <br /> <br />The Council recessed at 9:32 a.m., and reconvened at 9:55 a.m., with all <br />members present. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 288 JULY 19, 1986 <br /> <br /> <br />
