<br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br /> <br />~ <br />~ <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br /> <br />DECEMBER 5, 2005 <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />TITLE <br /> <br />AGREEMENT AMENDMENT FOR <br />CONSULTING SERVICES <br /> <br />o As Recommended <br />o As Amended <br />o Ordinance on 1" Reading <br />o Ordinance on 2"' Reading <br />o Implementing Resolution <br />o Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br />1(,,;,//712- <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and the <br />Clerk of the Council to amend the agreement with CitCom, Inc. to provide <br />consulting services, extending the term of the agreement by an additional <br />six months and increasing the compensation by $175,000, for a total <br />aggregate amount not to exceed $275,000. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Police Department is currently implementing technology initiatives to <br />upgrade the Computer-Aided-Dispatch, the Jail Management, and Mobile <br />Booking systems as well as wireless reporting for patrol officers. These <br />initiatives are funded through three grant awards from the Department of <br />Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS). In order <br />to assist in meeting grant and operational goals, consulting services are <br />required. <br /> <br />The Fire Department is currently implementing numerous technology <br />initiatives, which require consulting services. Projects include the <br />mobile data computing, personnel accountability system, and a new Computer- <br />Aided-Dispatch system. In addition, CitCom will provide consulting <br />services to evaluate alternative wireless infrastructures and deployment <br />within the City. <br /> <br />25G-1 <br />
