Warren #194, addressed Council, requesting <br />adoption of an interim rental stabilization ordinance. <br /> <br />Bob Thompson, 502 Onyx, addressed Council regarding excessive <br />mobilehome park rent increases. <br /> <br />COUNCIL AGENDA ITEMS <br /> <br />Councilmember McGuigan requested staff investigate a parking <br />congestion problem at a shopping center near the intersection of <br />Harbor and McFadden. <br /> <br />Councilmember Luxembourger requested staff coordinate plannning for <br />the County Centennial Celebration in order to avoid possible <br />construction at the Bowers Museum during the celebration period. <br /> <br />Councilmember Acosta reported receipt of a letter from Lyle <br />Blythstone regarding the use of concertina wire on his property at <br />First and Fairview, and requested staff review the matter. He also <br />indicated that he would be nominating Louisa Solis to the Education <br />Element Advisory Committee, and requested that she be sent an <br />application for service to the City. <br /> <br />Councilmember Acosta reported several constituent complaints <br />regarding excessive numbers of "no parking" and "street sweeping" <br />signs in the Hoover School area, and requested staff reduce the <br />number of signs, if possible. <br /> <br />Councilmember Young inquired as to when the Washington Square <br />Neighborhood Plan would be complete; the City Manager indicated he <br />would respond with the completion date as soon as possible. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Johnson indicated that he would be nominating David Brant <br />to the Education Element Advisory Committee, and requested he be sent <br />an application. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Johnson also reported street trees were obsuring the view <br />of an American flag at the post office on Grand Avenue between <br />McFadden and Chestnut Streets, and requested staff investigate.
