Mary Alcala, 1001 N. Freeman, addressed Council, alleging staff had been <br />uncooperative in the relocation of the Hammond House on East Owens Drive. <br />By the unanimous informal consent of the Council, the matter was referred <br />to the City Manager for resolution. <br /> <br />Veronica Leatherman, 901 N. Wright Street, addressed Council expressing <br />concern relative to a parking problem created by the Street Sweeping <br />Program. Staff was instructed by the Council to assist MS. Leatherman. <br /> <br />Zeke Hernandez, 420 S. Birch Street, #209, addressed Council inviting the <br />Councilmembers to attend the City's Centennial Birthday Celebration. <br /> <br />CLOSED SESSION <br /> <br />At 1:30 a.m., the Council recessed to Closed Session. <br /> <br />The Clerk of the Council announced the Council was recessing to Closed <br />Session pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(a) to confer with the <br />City Attorney regarding pending litigation which had been initiated <br />formally, and to which the City was a party, to wit, Arringdale vs. City <br />of Santa Ana (Workers Compensation), Brick vs. City of Santa Ana (Workers <br />Compensation), Gutierrez vs. City of Santa Ana; and pursuant to <br />Government Code Section 54957.6 to meet with its designated <br />representatives regarding labor relations matters. <br /> <br />At 1:45 a.m., the Council reconvened with all members present. <br /> <br />CLOSED SESSION REPORT <br /> <br />MOTION: Authorize settlement of the case of Brick vs. City of Santa Ana <br /> in the amount of $5,775.00 as a stipulation for heart and lung <br /> injury. <br /> <br /> MOTION: McGuigan SECOND: Acosta <br /> <br /> VOTE: AYES: Acosta, Griset, Hart, Johnson, Luxembourger, <br /> McGuigan, Young <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None FILE 410.10 <br /> <br />MOTION: Authorize a compromise and release in the case of Arringdale vs. <br /> City of Santa Ana in the amount of $25,000.00 which includes <br /> $13,926.00 in Labor Code Section 4850 benefits. <br /> <br />MOTION: Hart <br /> <br />VOTE: AYES: <br /> <br /> NOES: <br /> ABSENT: <br /> <br />SECOND: Acosta <br /> <br />Acosta, Griset, Hart, Johnson, Luxembourger, <br />McGuigan, Young <br />None <br />None FILE 410.10 <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 396 OCTOBER 6, 1986 <br /> <br /> <br />
