Emergency Employment Act of 1971 <br />Prohibits discrimination based on race, creed, national origin, political <br />affiliation, or beliefs. <br />4. <br />How to File Your Complaint <br />a. Put your complaint in writing. <br />b. Have it sworn to before a notary public, if possible. <br />c. Provides details that tell what happened, where it happened, and when <br />it happened. <br />d. Give the name and addresses of all persons who were present or who <br />had anything to do with the matter. <br />...Complaints on the basis of race, color, or nationa! origin, age, sex, <br />religion, political affiliation or belief, retaliation and citizenship, must be <br />fled within 180 days of the alleged occurrence directly with: <br />Director <br />Civil Rights Center <br />U.S. Department of Labor, Room N-4123 <br />200 Constitution Ave„ NW <br />Washington, D.C. 20210 <br />Complaints on the basis of handicap must be filed within 180 days of <br />the alleged occurrence. These complaints must be filed directly with <br />the WIA administrative entity. The WIA administrative entity shall issue <br />a written decision within 30 days of the filing of the complaint. If the <br />complaint is still unresolved, an appeal may be made to the Chief of <br />State Workforce Investment Division Office. <br />The Department of Labor, the Civil Service Commission, the Equal <br />Employment Opportunity Commission, and many other offices and agencies <br />are committed to assuring equal employment opportunities for all persons. <br />They will protect you. <br />A case may be taken to court if the other processes do not yield satisfactory <br />results. <br />You may hire your own lawyer, or if you cannot afford one, the court may <br />appoint one for you. <br />
