<br />Effective July 1, 2006, the base salary of employees <br />covered by this Agreement shall be increased by the <br />greater of the following amounts: 1) that percentage <br />increase, rounded to the nearest half-percent (.5%), <br />not to exceed approximately 4.5%, consistent with the <br />amount received by members of the Santa Ana Firemen's <br />Benevolent Association; or 2) that percentage increase <br />in an across-the-board salary adjustment provided to <br />any other City bargaining unit for fiscal year 2006-07. <br /> <br />Effective July 1, 2007, the base salary of employees <br />covered by this Agreement shall be increased by the <br />greater of the following amounts: 1) that percentage <br />increase, rounded to the nearest half-percent (.5%), <br />not to exceed approximately 4.5%, consistent with that <br />amount received by members of the Santa Ana Firemen's <br />Benevolent Association; or 2) that percentage increase <br />in an across-the-board salary adjustment provided to <br />any other City bargaining unit during the fiscal year <br />2007-08. <br /> <br />B. Equity Adjustments. In addition to the salary <br />increases referenced in 4.3A above, effective July 1, <br />2005, the salary rate range assigned to the class of <br />Fire Battalion Chief shall be increased by twelve (12) <br />salary rate ranges (approximately 6%). Additionally, <br />effective July 1, 2005, a new salary schedule will be <br />developed for the class of Fire Marshal, which includes <br />an approximate six percent (6%) salary increase. <br /> <br />C. The assignment of classes to salary rate ranges during <br />the term of this Agreement resulting from the increases <br />specified in Subsections 4.3(A) and 4.3(B) above are <br />listed in Exhibit A, which is attached and made apart <br />hereof as though set forth herein. <br /> <br />4.4 Application of Basic Compensation Plan. All employees <br />working in classifications covered by this Agreement shall be <br />compensated at a monthly rate. <br /> <br />4.5 Beginning Rates. <br /> <br />A. Fire Management Group A Classes. An employee appointed <br />to a Fire Management Group A class (Deputy Fire Chief <br />or Fire Marshal) shall be compensated at any rate <br /> <br />8 <br />
