<br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />~ <br />~ <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br /> <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br /> <br />JANUARY 3, 2006 <br /> <br />TITLE: <br /> <br />APPROVED <br />o As Recommended <br />o As Amended <br />o Ordinance on 151 Reading <br />o Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />o Implementing Resolution <br />o Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br />AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT FOR <br />RIGHT OF WAY SUPPORT SERVICES <br /> <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />~~j~ 1')' ,/.:l:~ <br />.~t~~~J ~='~ <br />CITY M.A:NAGER <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and <br />the Clerk of the Council to execute an amendment to the agreement with <br />Kent Jorgensen to provide right of way support services for a total <br />amount not to exceed $300,000. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />On December 20, 2004, the City Council approved an agreement with Kent <br />Jorgensen in the amount of $150,000 for right of way support services. <br />These services included real property acquisition, relocation assistance, <br />property management, escrow activities, surplus properties, street and <br />alley vacations and project management. <br /> <br />During the past year Kent Jorgensen has been instrumental in acquiring <br />the properties on Bristol Street between Pine and Third Streets. He is <br />also providing support in providing cost estimates and general real <br />estate and right of way services. <br /> <br />With anticipation of the additional funding for Bristol Street Corridor, <br />Kent Jorgensen will also provide assistance in overseeing other <br />consultants' work. This agreement is needed to support the current right <br />of way operations and to avoid any delays in projects due to a long-term <br />vacancy in the Design Engineering Section. Kent Jorgensen is currently <br />working for the City as a consultant and is familiar with the system and <br />operations of the City. An amendment to Kent Jorgensen's existing <br />agreement is recommended to continue right of way support services and to <br />meet the project deadlines. <br /> <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br /> <br />There is no environmental impact associated with this action <br /> <br />25F-1 <br />
