PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />75.A. GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT 87-1 <br /> <br />Proposal to restructure the City's residential districts, significantly <br />reducing the density throughout the City. <br /> <br />Approved by the Planning Commission on March 23, 1987 by the following <br />vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Spevacek, Uno, Miller, Chavez-Gomez, Sizemore <br />Godinez, Casteix <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor opened the public hearing on General Plan Amendment 87-1 <br />proposing to reduce densities in predominantly multi-family areas, delete <br />multi-family development from single family areas and focus high density <br />development into district centers. <br /> <br />Deputy City Manager Rex Swanson and Senior Planner Ken Adams presented <br />the staff report, Planning Commission recommendation and staff comments. <br /> <br />Councilmember Acosta rejoined the meeting at 8:18 p.m. <br /> <br />One written communication from Pacifica Company in support of the <br />proposed Amendment was reported by the Clerk of the Council. <br /> <br />The following persons spoke in favor of General Plan Amendment 87-1: <br /> <br />Helen Brown, 521 S.
